In the autumn of 2019, we took the brave step of uprooting our young family from the hustle and bustle of the city, and replanting them in the wilds of mid Wales. From our new home, an old stone Smithy set in 4.5 acres of sloping pasture, we have started the long journey of creating a market garden, specialising in soft fruits, salads and cut flowers. Our aim is to gradually develop the land that surrounds us into a regenerative small farm, that follows sustainable and organic principles, and to supply the local area with the freshest fruits, salads, and cut flowers. Using no dig principles, our strategy is to capitalise on the natural benefits of the site, improve the soil, and ensure we create an ethical business that benefits the local ecology, as well as the local community. Our farm functions essentially as a market garden, and favours simple hand tools over mechanisation, and will be developed carefully and incrementally in the years to come.
